As we struggle through hardship, a Sh2 trillion port in Lamu is the latest talk by our principals. It is expected to stimulate business, etc. Who will need this when the population has starved to extinction?

This week started off on a sour note.

Kenyans dying of hunger, a re-branded Kenya Power rationing electricity, relief food for IDPs stolen, headteachers complaining of under-funding and of course the usual unga-lessness and high fuel prices.

As we struggle through hardship, a Sh2 trillion port in Lamu is the latest talk by our principals.

It is expected to stimulate business, etc. Who will need this when the population has starved to extinction?

Why not suspend these mega-projects and channel the funds to saving our people’s lives?
